9th GST Council meeting: key decisions

The ninth meeting resolved the long-running dispute on dual control. The Council agreed to divide taxpayers between Central and State tax administrations by turnover and number, so that each taxpayer deals with a single administration. Powers over territorial waters were also addressed. This decision cleared the way for GST to be introduced from 1 July 2017.

Chaired by Arun Jaitley, Union Finance Minister.
